GE-X, fps and seasons

Recommended Posts

Hi,I might be just imagining this, I haven't done any real testing, but, I just loaded GE-X, and I was flying east of Nashua, NH in clear weather and switched between today's date and September 21, and my fps jumped by 15% - 20%. I may be just imagining this, and it could be due to other things, but has anybody else seen anything like this?Any idea why it might be true?E6600 @ 3.34 GHz, 8800 GTS 640 (162.18), 2GB, 10K 150GB Raptor, XPSP21m, 19m, Scenery Very Dense, Autogen Dense, Bloom off, Water 2.2, shadows offTrees 6500, Buildings 3500Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180

I have noticed the same feeling with my medium rig. And the blurries seem a little better. Don't get me wrong, I still get blurries, particularly with the triple 7.700 feet agl700 knots7 beers LOLBob...

>One thing that seems to be on my machine is the fall textures>don't have much in the textures in the way of fall colors? (I>run without autogen-perhaps they rely on the autogen to>provide this?).>http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/8aa8e4...113291f5f4g.jpg>My blog:>http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/No Geofa, I do not belive that is the issue. I'm running with Scenery Complexity at very dense and Autogen at very dense and it has no effect. I think there is just not alot of "Fall" colors in the Fall textures. Minor issue for me though as I really like what GEX brings to FSX elsewise.

I think it has to do with the date. Fall in New England apparently starts on September 17, and the colors are gone by October 17. If that is what you are asking.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180

Oh, I get it. I was talking about the autogen trees. Even so, the ground didn't give me the impression of full green trees. I'll take some comparative pics later.Any thoughts on the diff in FPS?I never noticed the diff with regular FSX, but, I never really bothered to check. Especially since the FSX fall and winter textures are so horrendous, I always flew in summer.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180

I have always flown summer in fs (not just fsx) just because I didn't find the other seasons very realistic.I have to say-the gex textures look great in certain areas-but I have found the fall has no color (textures are pretty much full green) and the winter has some strange shadows on the snow-at least on my present rig.However-still seems to be great improvement-and some areas are spectacular-northern california for instance is night and day! As probably with most simmers-I first tried my area of the country and didn't see that much improvement. I then tried other areas-and the improvement was amazing...http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/8aa8e4...113291f5f4g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/
