Hi,

Presently I have a Reverb G2 on an old computer running Win10 and P3D5.  I'm really happy with the headset.  When at cruise on a flight lasting several hours, I will go off for long enough to have a meal, leaving the headset to go to sleep, returning to proceed with the flight.  This facility is really important to me and the G2 has done over 700 flights to date.

Now I'm planning to buy a new computer, and it will come with Win11, impending death for the G2.  Bearing in mind the above "sleep" facility, I'd be really grateful for advice about using a Quest 3, and also what extras will be necessary to link it to the PC, extend the battery life etc.

PS  My Vive Pro burned out its screen, because it didn't have a sleep mode!

Q3 Screen goes dark once you took it off, sometimes it doesn't but just press the power button it'll go to sleep as well.

You can link to PC by both USB3.0 link cable (not included) or wifi, you don't really need the original oculus cable, most USB3.0 cable A-C or C-C depending on what you use on PC would do it fine.

Note A-C is not optimal as most USB-A 3.0 on computer motherboard could not provide 9V charge to sustain it's battery, and not all MB can do it with USB-C also. what I use is a split cable with USB-A connect and C to the charger to keep it full when playing

as for Wifi, my personal experence is if you have wifi router connect to PC via cable and it's in same room with Q3, even WIFI5 would be fine most of the time, but WIFI6 would be much more stable.

Thank you for your reply.  Unfortunately I have had to postpone the move to a new computer for now.  Just as well, since I'm a bit lost on those connections.  I think of USB as simply USB2 or USBC.
