Only recently come back into X-Plane as I wanted to fly the wonderful HotStart Challenger again. Does anyone know what plans LR have for Anti-Aliasing in XP12? As it seems to much worse off compared to XP11. I know they have recently added some improvements with these new betas but just wondering if there is going to be more changes.

Especially if you don't want blurry cockpit displays the Anti-Aliasing is no where near as good.

big change in defaults between XP11 and XP12 was they changed the default fov from 60 to 80. check its not just that.

Which doesn't seem to do much of anything.

You can get better results with GeForce Experience and Details or Sharpen.

It is FXAA and how it works by averaging pixels with different colors and this results in a blur. So thin stuff, i.e. text on a panel/screen get a bit blurry.

I think LR should bring the option to turn it off back, or maybe try a different "post filter" method like SMAA instead of FXAA, SMAA should in theory result in better quality but it may affect performance a little unlike FXAA.

I think SMAA might help with specular reflections, as well, those are still not treated and remain jaggy, it also does not need motion vectors 😀
