Hi,

I use Addons Linker to launch MSFS Steam version. The annoying thing is that Steam's windows with publicity are displayed. 

Is there any way to start Steam with it's windows minimized?

You can add the “-silent” modifier in the registry.  Google search Leo3418.github.io for specific instructions on which key to modify, assuming you’re comfortable modifying registry keys.  

Otherwise, you have to start Steam when you start your PC, and it can be started minimized.  Steam > settings > interface…..you’ll see options for starting Steam on PC start, and starting it minimized.

@Space Monkey and @bob755  .. have you updated to the very latest version of AL released last week ? That version should launch Steam in silent mode with no need to tweak anything else, it was one of the changes .. (oh well maybe it doesn't work properly for everyone)

Ouch 🙊 ... thanks for letting me know, i need to check that again (in the code of the last version i can see that i added the parameters -silent -nochatui -nofriendsui) so not sure whats happening there. On my machine, i tested again and the sim launches with no extra Steam screen showing up.

Just to be 100% sure, can you please confirm :

• you have set 'Steam' or 'Steam (fast launch)' in the options screen 'Choose your FS version' field ?
• You have the very latest version 0.21.xx  ? (probably yes)
• There was no Steam update during the launch (if there was, maybe Steam restarts itself and the parameters are lost, not sure about that, just an idea).

I would be grateful 💗 if maybe someone else could also test to see if it's a particular issue on your marchine or if it's a particular condition on my machine that makes it work only for me 😱

Breaking News:   It is working, my error (old age). In the start-up options I had added a line to start Steam first, which I realised was unnecessary so I deleted it and now all is good.
