Active sky - Live or sim weather in PMDG settings

I am using active sky.

PMDG has a setting for weather with a choice of Live or sim.

Which one will use Active sky weather.

What if active sky is using historic weather.

Does it really make a difference anyway ?

Supposedly you should choose "sim" instead of "live", because when ASFS runs, live is not active.

Where is the setting for weather in the PMDG, I don't ever remember seeing that??
