MSFS OC issues

Featured Replies

I have a GTX 1080 FTW2 card that works well with MSFS, however there is one issue.  If I fail to turn off the factory overclocking in the NVIDIA Control Panel by checking 'Debug mode' MSFS will crash shortly after starting my flight.

I plan to upgrade to a 4070 in the near future, but I am concerned that that the OC issue will rear it's ugly head with the new card.

Is is safe to go with a 4070 OC, or should I be looking for a reference speed card, which seems to be hard to find. Also, any recommendations in the $500 to $550 range?

Thanks..

I overclock my AMD GPU as well, but just to the almost max OC values, and i leave it at that and FS2020 is stable.

TBH, you can get a GPU that is factory overclocked and you will be happy with it without doing any additional OC'ing settings, your gain is minimal and unnoticeable like maybe less than 5%? but you will have to trade off with temperature and may need to adjust the voltage depending on the card.

Get the 4070 super, and get a card that is more than 12GB if you can afford it, but for now 12GB is just as capable.

the 4070 super would be my next card to replace my 6750xtx 12GB
