VC Night Lighting In Default A321 and B738

Featured Replies

The virtual cockpit night lighting in the default A321 is too bright and on my system results in an almost complete wash-out of the airspeed and altitude tapes. Turning of the panel lighting causes the entire panel to go black, and there is absolutely no gauge glow.Does anyone have any ideas on what kind of edit is needed to turn off the dome or panel lighting so that only the CRTs glow in the panel, as in the real world aircraft? See my screenshot, which was taken from the Overland A321 VC, for what I'd like to see at night.Cheers,http://www.my-buddy-icon.com/Icons/objects/red_3d_plane.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MDhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/182413.jpg

On all aircraft, look in the aircraft.cfg file for the [LIGHTS] section, as shown below. Look for a line with something like fx_vclighth and place two slashes // in front of the line, then Save the file.ACES created an entirely NEW "Light Type 10" back in FS9 specifically for overhead cabin lights. Why the h*ll they don't even use it themselves is anyone's guess! [LIGHTS] //Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landinglight.0 = 3, -19.10, -54.15, 5.85, fx_navredm ,light.1 = 3, -19.10, 54.15, 5.85, fx_navgrem ,light.2 = 3, -83.60, 0.00, 7.60, fx_navwhih ,light.3 = 2, -18.60, -53.50, 5.75, fx_strobeh ,light.4 = 2, -18.60, 53.50, 5.75, fx_strobeh ,light.5 = 2, 3.70, 0.00, -2.80, fx_beaconb ,light.6 = 1, -3.30, 0.00, 11.50, fx_beaconh ,//light.7 = 4, 53.41, 0.00, 4.50, fx_vclighth ,Alternatively, try one of the other two vc lights:fx_vclightwhi.fx or fx_vclight.fx

Anyone? Did you fix this? I am having the same issue. Help please!!

This is a very old thread to jump into.  I suggest creating a new thread and describe your

problem in detail.  All default and probably most 3rd party addon aircraft

will be this way.  The panel/VC light must be on to see the gauges light up

in the VC.  Probably a better situation in the payware aircraft.

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!
