Airbus A320 freeware package, displays not loading

Featured Replies

Hello, I have the Airbus A320 Family package from Rikoooo and it's always worked fine until I tried loading one of the planes this time and now when the flight loads, the PFD and MFD displays don't work, they are not even there, just blank spots where they go.  The rest of the aircraft loaded and seems to work, it's just the panels are missing.

I tried reinstalling it a couple times but it didn't help.

I'm guessing this is a problem with gauges like in the gauges folder probably?  Or is it something else?  The plane is P3Dv5 compatible (which I am using).

I would appreciate any help,

Thanks

could be an issue with the particular texture entry in the cfg file. I would compare a different texture to see if the PFD and MFD show up. If they do, then compare both texture entries and go from there. I just experienced that with a couple of entries for some payware stuff with bad entries...Once I changed them the cockpit worked fine.

Thanks for the reply, you mean in the aircraft.cfg?

yes i mean in the aircraft cfg. it may not be the fix but one thing to check out. Could also be in the texture folder itself.

That's very odd that they worked before and now all of the sudden the gauges don't display.

Somehow either the gauges got changed/corrupted or the panel configuration file changed/corrupted.

I think I know why now.  I deleted the Texture folder recently when I was doing a reinstall (technical issues).  Makes me wonder about what @ywg256  said but In my case I think I lost the textures themselves.  Luky for me though I keep a backup of the Texture folder so what I will do is copy, paste and select don't overwrite files so it will only install textures I'm missing.

If that is the case though, wouldn't reinstalling it have replaced the missing textures?  I don't know, maybe I'm wrong.

I will try it anyway and see.

You said that it was only the gauges not showing but otherwise the VC looks OK.

Is the VC black?  This would indicate missing VC textures.

If it's just the pfd and mfd displays but everything else is OK then I would think it's either a problem with those gauges, the panel.cfg file, or the VC model.

It's just the pfd and mfd, the rest of the cockpit textures load just fine.

I've been looking through the aircraft configuration file and panel configuration file but I'm not sure what I'm looking for, I don't mess with these files often so I really don't know what I'm looking for.

So I still haven't figured out what's going on with this plane.  I looked through the aircraft.cfg and panel.cfg, I'm no expert at this stuff but I didn't see any problems to my untrained eye.  I just don't know enough about this kind of stuff to know what I'm looking for.  The panels all seem to point to a texture, but that's as far as I can tell.  Please, anyone, I would really appreciate some help here, I really want to fly this plane.  I've added a screenshot of the VC to show what I'm seeing.

Is there any way to upload a file so I can upload the panel.cfg for someone to look at?  I don't see a way to upload small files like you can on other forums.

Here's what I'm seeing:

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Rikooo package?

If you can tell me the name of the package, or give me a link, then I can take a look at it.

It's not a texture problem.  The VC textures load fine.  It's the gauges that aren't displaying.

When you click on the VC pfd or mfd, does a pop-up 2D panel open up?

This may seem obvious, but is the battery turned on?

It's called the Airbus A320 Family Mega Pack and you can find it here:

Airbus A320 Family Mega Pack for FSX and P3D - DOWNLOAD (rikoooo.com)

Personally though, I don't believe it's a problem with the download because this package used to work.  I never had a chance to use it extensively, but I've loaded it and flown it multiple times without a problem until recently.

I think something else is going on but I don't know what.

I got it working!  What I did was uninstall the plane, then I ran the repair option in the P3D installer, reinstalled the plane and everything works again.
