September 3, 20241 yr We all do it I'm sure now and again but after noticing subtle stuttering had been happening that I had been ignoring for many weeks or months I decided to update to the latest NV driver, and the current one wasn't very old. I decided to do the R&R GPU driver, clear the DX caches, install a new GPU driver, and then reset NV Control Panel per your preferences. Since DX caches are associated with the specific driver it's useful to follow this simple sequence: 1. Delete each Nvidia driver entry including driver, PhysX, Geforce Experience. 2. Reboot 3. Go to Disk Cleanup to get rid of those DX shaders then the other larger repository which is here for me: C:\Users\xxxxxxxxxxx\AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\PerDriverVersion\DXCache 4. Reboot 5. Install the latest or whatever GPU driver you're going to use. This frequently improves stuttering issues in my experience...but I forget to do it more than I should 😕 Edited September 3, 20241 yr by Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. September 3, 20241 yr Whilst videocard drivers are a common culprit, It's also a good idea to go to your motherboard manufacturers website and update your chipset drivers and soundcard drivers as the windows versions are often outdated. I had to do this following the w11 24H2 insider update. Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
September 3, 20241 yr Use DDU to delete the old driver before you install a new one, then will all NVIDIA folders be wiped out from your HD, cache including, all Nvidia related folders and files will be deleted, even from the registry, it will be like when you inserted the card for the first time.
