Pepe's Rescues a Small Helicopter!

This was unusual enough to share with folks here. A small helicopter had to make an emergency landing in the middle of the High Speed Lane of one of the very busy freeways close to LAX a few days ago. A rotator from Pepe's Towing was dispatched by CHP to help remove the helicopter quickly. I've been following YouTube videos about this company for many months as I find them fascinating!

Very cool, not a fan of those Robinson Helicopters they were banned from flying in New Zealand for a period of time due to too many accidents, they are not suitable for our mountain conditions. I wonder what happened to this one most likely mechanical.

I watch some of those recovery shows those rotators are very cool machines and the operator knew what he was doing, fun to watch

Perhaps, although I noticed that the first thing the ground crew wanted was to roll it over to the fuel tanker. Might it have been simply low on fuel? 🫤

One of my favorite rotators is owned by Ron Pratt's "Midwest Towing." The boom not only rotates 360º, but slides fore/aft 5' for even more precision in placing recovered equipment.
