September 24, 20241 yr You should get an X3D processor, not the standard ones. [MSI MPG X870E Carbon | 9800X3D (PBO +200Mhz / -20 Offset) | Corsair 64GB DDR5 (Custom Timings) | RTX 4090 Founders Edition (Undervolted) | WD SNX 850X 4TB + 4TB | Antec Flux Pro]
September 24, 20241 yr Author Thanks for catching that - changed that component to AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D 4.2GHz 16 Core "...now let's get this thing on the hump - we've got some flyin' to do!" ~ Major Kong from "Dr. Stranglove" Scott Cebula

It is my understanding that while gaming, it parks or disables half of its cores. Therefore, with the announcement by Asobo that 2024 will utilize as many cores as possible, you may be better off with the 7900X using 12 cores versus the 7950X3D using only 8 of its cores. 9800X3D | RTX 5090 FE | X870E Aorus Pro | 64GB G.Skill DDR5 6000MT/s | WD Black 2TB NVMe
September 25, 20241 yr Author Thanks for that information - so many things to consider....enough to make a persons head hurt, LOL. "...now let's get this thing on the hump - we've got some flyin' to do!" ~ Major Kong from "Dr. Stranglove" Scott Cebula

September 27, 20241 yr You all should wait on actual performance reviews post release and see how the hardware is actually utilized instead of guessing. But im sure that's the unpopular opinion at the moment with all the speculation going on.
