January 10, 200818 yr When I switch to tower view the view is not actually from inside the tower, its just a random location, somtimes 500ft up. How do i get the view to center within the tower?
January 11, 200818 yr "Tower view" position is set is set by data within the default airport fies (APX). It is not necessarily set to the position of the tower scenery object (if any).I believe it is possible to "unlock" the tower view and move it to the physical tower, but to get it to do that automatically you need to modify the default airport using one of the "AFCAD-style" utilities designed to work with FSX.scott s..
January 11, 200818 yr Eagle,to easily move the tower view you may change the tower movement characteristics by replacing (in the Cameras.cfg) the line:XyzAdjust = FALSEwithXyzAdjust = TRUEXyzRate = 1.5 // add a meters/sec speed that you would like; the default 0.25 is much too slow for moving very far. You should probably have the tower view Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
January 11, 200818 yr I have to say this is one of the things that does bug me about FSX. Probably because I fly a lot out of Logan (KBOS). The tower "view" at KBOS is so far away from where the actual tower is it's not even interesting.I used ScruffyDuck's Airport Design Editor to move it closer to where it should be.The reason some tower views aren't tower views is that all towers in FSX are set to 90 feet high for some reason I've not heard discussed (perhaps ACES can say why). That caused problems at some airports that have scenery elements taller than 90 feet in front of the tower scenery elements (is my guess.)
