KSEA Seattle-Tacoma from FeelThere

You still have hope in Taxi2Gate? Those guys came back from beyond the grave with KMCO. And as expected, after two or three updates, they returned back underground and you will not hear from them for the next two years. They might come back by surprise with another scenery, nobody knows when.

The last post on their facebook page date from July 6th 2023, more than one year ago.

The 2 best sceneries for FSX and P3D were DD and Taxi2Gate.  So yes...

I thought DD was working on Seattle after Boeing field, Renton, and Paine but They went back to redo Warsaw. So hopefully it is next. Taxi 2 Gate are probably working on something big.  What's weird to me is if Taxi2Gate disappears for a while everyone assumes the worst.  When Fly Tampa disappears for a year or more no one worries.  But then I forgot that Gaya may make a really good rendition of Seattle.  If it is as detailed as Munich it would be the best.

This is just show you how much detail BMW/Amsim is missing.  And I emailed Alexy this exact photo, and several others all over the airport in attempt go get him to improve Seattle , but no dice after several years.

Not only is so much missing but its not even modeled correctly and the gates and parking positions aren't in the right spots. I mean to me this has a worse level of detail than an Asobo default airport for 20 bucks.

Same with Phoenix.  Real Terminal D connector.

BMW AMSIM

I do not understand how anyone can say this is a good developer.

I am going to buy the feel there version of KSEA and see if it is more accurate...  and if it is that is sad.

Please let us know how it is. As someone who also flies though KSEA regularly irl as well I completely agree BMWorld version doesn't actually feel like Seattle International Airport to me.

Okay I got the FeelThere Version and my verdict is it sucks too but for different reasons.

So first we will go to Gate A6.  As you can see they did a better job..as in they actually put in gate A5 and put gate 4 in the right position.  The terminal model looks better, the windows go all the way up the ground markings are better. All of this looks better than BMW AMSIM.  The only glaring defect is that they did not put in ramp lights on top of the building.  BMW AMSIM has them modeled wrong, wrong, length, and wrong style but feel there actually did not put them in all.  Which is weird because they put them on ever other terminal. spacer.png

The Iconic Red gate signs are there but there is no real luminosity.  Instead of parallax they did make a low res interior which in my opinion is better.  The bridge and end of terminal A are modeled more correct than the BMW AMsim version.

spacer.png

The Delta area looks okay at first glance but then you notice some issues.  The gate to gate bridge height is messed up and the VGDS is in a weird spot.  more on that later.  The terminal also seems to be over weathered.

spacer.png

I like how they modeled the Horizon/Skywest area well, textures are so so but unfortunately, I can not get airplanes to populate in that area.  That's a big immersion killer for me. and a huge disappointment.

spacer.png

The N gates won't populate with aircraft either, which again is a deal killer.  The modeling isn't bad, the gate positions are good, the interiors are simple and not as good. but overall BMWAMSIM did a better job.

spacer.png

Now for the even worse typical feel there word not allowed.  disembodied VGDS' all over the place.  I counted 23 gates, there are probably more.  Also note airplanes are parked at incorrect gates?  Southwest Gates?  not in the Feel There world.

spacer.png

Feel There never brands anything. So that alone usually means I won't buy it.  I had forgot that, but yeah no Alaska Airlines or Delta. Not even Alaka or Shmelta.  Of course, we all know the goal is really to make airports for the tower simulator.

spacer.png

The ground markings aren't bad, they are strangely accurate for a Feel There product.  I feel they have improved... but not enough.

spacer.png

So I thought okay, let's do these same shots with BMW/AMsim and see what's what.  And I have to say I think Feel there did a better job with terminal modeling and texturing and overall appearance of the airport.  The BMW/Amsim version is just so undetailed and lifeless. The only thing I really like about it is the fact that they assigned aircraft parking codes. Alexy and BMW/Amsim could easily fix all this but they choose not to.  I don't understand why they have gone on to make good airports like San Diego and Miami but they wont fix Seattle and Phoenix to the same level.  We made our money, move along I guess.  They both disappoint me.

same shots in the BMWorld AMSIM version:

A lot wrong here.  See if you can tell the differences.  like a missing gate perhaps or the fact the south facade should be all glass. this shows you how issues go way beyond the red gate signs.

spacer.png

BMW Amsim of course wins here, still some issues, all they really need is red gate signs.

spacer.png

This area is done poorly in my opinion.  I have come through here 7 or 8 times this year in reality and there are so many missing details and things that are just wrong. Also, not BMW amsim didn't do well with the parking assignments here either so if I want to fly Horizon flights, the immersion isn't there.

spacer.png

Gate assignments are for some reason really challenging in MSFS.  Still no Southwest. but no disembodied VGDS so that's good.

spacer.png

Obviously branding over no branding wins every time.

spacer.png

Detail missing. a strange sterile blurry look from up high.   Tome this does not match reality as well as Feel There.

spacer.png

My Verdict, for me, for my opinion... is that they both are equally bad in different ways. The more I look at BMW/Amsim the worse it looks and the more issues I find.  FeelThere as per usual has glaring defects and refuses to use branding which kills immersion.  If I were to score them I'd score them about the same.  Because like I said, there are so many defects in the terminal modeling of BMW AMsim, not to mention lack of details.  They do both have working traffic although for some reason airplanes won't park in the Horizon area or the North terminal in the feel there version. If you think the BMW/AMSim version is superior... that's and interesting take... I don't think that is the case.  The best thing to do is to put the pressure on BMW AMSim to fix these things I have pointed out.  They pride their selves on customer service supposedly but after several detailed professional e-mails they keep doing minor things that don't address glaring issues like several missing gates.  Feel There we all know have NO customer service so....   Sigh...
