October 21, 20241 yr I never experienced a storm like the one we got Saturday night. In the four hours between 8:00PM and midnight we got about 6 inches of rain. It set a new record for rainfall in Roswell. It broke the last record set in 1901. It was a constant roar like a train passing by window. We in Peachtree are all OK. We are on higher ground so we don't have flooding. But the house we Betty and I in for 30 years is flooded. I sold it before moving to Peachtree Retirement Village. It might be a while before I can go out and about. https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/20/us/new-mexico-flooding-roswell-weather/index.html Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

I hope there were no lives lost. The ground out there doesn't absorb water very well, hence you can get dangerous flash flooding that occurs with heavy rain. The rainfall in 1901 was 5.65 inches. This time it was 5.78 inches, so essentially about the same. It's true what they say about "100-year" floods. This was truly a once in a century event.
