MSFS 2024 and X-touch mini

Featured Replies

Suddenly AAO has lost recogniion of the Mini since 2024 install.  This is in both the 2020 and 2024 sims.  Any other reports of this?  I tried and teh Mini seems to be working and I also have tried the older version of AAO and the two new versions also.

Mystified.

Heard of this only in conjunction with Win11 updates. On my computer, every time I turned it on, I had to unplug the XT and reconnect it, then start AAO again.

Recently I remembered and turned off the Windows Enhanced Power Management for the XT, now it seems to work OK for me.

Try turning off the EPM. AAO has a feature for that in the Tools menu (requires admin rights and the PC must be restarted afterwards).

Also, try and reset the hardware too (unplug, hold down Layer A+B buttons, reconnect, keep pressing those buttons until it stops blinking)

Did all of that and no change.  The update just published now lets AAO see the Mini.  Wont react with it yet but its certainly tied to the 2024 install.  Perhaps by SU5.  Real bad part is it2024 takes twice as long to startup as before.

I had to do this just now as well in my first time trying the XT with 2024.

I had this a long time before 2024 was even released. I always assumed that it was Win 11 doing it.

Also, don't forget about Mobiflight - in the past, MF reserved all MIDI devices for its own use, and AAO could no longer see them. If you have Mobiflight in your sim at the same time, make sure to set up MIDI correctly.

Which is strange. The sim has no business with MIDI devices, it doesn't even know what they are.

MIDI is the Musical Instrument Digital Interface, established in 1980. I can't see why MS24 would care about that. Or rather, I haven't read anything about Asobo implementing an interface. After all, MIDI devices usually are synthesizers and beat boxes. Us using them in a flight sim is not as the manufacturer intended 🙂

That is why it is a mystery to this point.  I plan to keep poking away until it is solved.  I am assuming it is something with my setup.
