December 10, 20241 yr After the abject frustration of trying to fly my favorite (and namesake) airliner (the 787), in my previous attempt in MSFS2024 (see my previous post); today, however, this ATR 72-600, made up some lost ground for me, by performing flawlessly, on a short flight, from (KLAX) Los Angeles International Airport to (KSAN) San Diego International Airport...(Bringing back bits of bygone memories when I'd taken the Amtrak train from the Los Angeles Union Station to the city of San Diego...on a most enjoyable short train ride...along the Pacific coast and through picturesque small California towns... I recall, after checking into the Downtown Marriott, I'd directly headed out to the beautiful seaside community of La Jolla, San Diego...🙂...) ... For my flight today, I've uploaded the SimBrief FlightPlan into the airplane's FMC, via its own (custom) EFB. And I'm pleased to report that there is nothing to complain today...🙂... (Oh well...after all, this is just a pastime in the bigger picture of life...🙂...) .... from the very moment I lifted off westward into the Pacific Ocean, then making a sweeping southward turn towards San Diego (see Default EFB/MAP overlay below), and eventually, to the moment, the wheels of the ATR touched down (smoothly) on the eastward ILS Rwy 09, of San Diego Airport... Hope you enjoy this collection of images, from my trip today, with this popular turboprop airliner...a regional transport airplane, I've travelled on many times, but never within U.S., always in foreign countries... Thanks for viewing...! Edited December 10, 20241 yr by P_7878
December 10, 20241 yr Nice shots. Too bad your descent didn't place you a mile or two further down the coast for a view of La Jolla's beautiful cove,

December 10, 20241 yr Great set P_7878, well done. Tried the ATR as well and I cannot pop out the pfd and mfd, the figures are small. I think there is an addon needed for 2024 which is available from .to. In 2020 it works with altgr and mouseclick. You seem to know San Diego better than I do from my one single visit.... Yes, La Jolla Cove is not too far from my (ILS) Glidepath...🙂...looks like. On that first day of my arrival in the downtown hotel, I recall, without having had a rental car yet, I took the city bus line...to La Jolla... Appreciated the comment, Andreas. On the Xbox, since I use the combination of my (very effective) Xbox Controller knobs plus the Keyboard/Mouse, for zooming in and out the MFD/PFD displays, it has worked well enough for me, and is one aspect that fortunately carried over for me from MSFS2020 to MSFS2024... The Flightsim.to add-ons are a great strength for you on the PC, but, of course, on Xbox, I don't have access to such supplements...so, mine is just the pure vanilla MSFS/Asobo offering of the ATR...
