simple way to keep track of finances when flight simming?

Featured Replies

I know there are plenty of career addons that will do this in spades.

But I'm burning out on them and want to "fly on my own" however I know I'm gong to miss keeping track of the finances.

keeping track of income - I find to be much easier but expenses is where the problem lies...

Is there anyway of keeping track of finances that would be very easy?
I was thinking maybe a percentage of income?
or using time...

any help would be appreciated.

Ciao!

You could try FSCaptain (http://fscaptain.net/), though "easy" depends on what you are looking for. FSCaptain is now freely available on Simmarket and includes an economic mode. Setting that mode up isn't really easy, but once you got through that it just runs and tracks your finances, you only need to fly. You can fly where you want, what you want (albeit you have to modify a file once for each airplane you want to use) and can make the economy as easy or hard as you want.

FSCaptain officially only supports FS9, FSX and P3D, but a late alpha version exists for MSFS 2020 and 2024. You can register with the FSCaptain forum and ask for that version (and for help setting up the economic mode) there.
