FS2024 (A310-300) - 4th iniBuilds Airliner I tested in Xbox

Featured Replies

As a completely non-professional aviator (but a passionate enthusiast of this hobby nonetheless...🙂...), the A300 and the A310 Airbus variants have always appealed to me a great deal since the earliest days of my (SIM) engagement. These two a/c are unique in the Airbus family because they are not only the foundations for rest of the later (more modern) Airbus types but also have very distinctive style flightdeck and cockpits of their own, with avionics feel, in the cockpit, especially for us virtual aviators, that is different from those of the other (modern) Airbus types. We know that the Airbus A320 was the first airliner to feature a full digital fly-by-wire (FBW) flight control system, which was introduced in 1988, while the A310 flew for the first time, 6 years earlier, in 1982.

In our SIM, the A310 of iniBuilds was a nice and complex enough airliner to be included as a (welcome) default aircraft in MSFS2020 (some folks might remember the Thomas Ruth A310s of past SIMs...🙂...). So, the MSFS2020 A310-300, was also carried over to MSFS2024 as a default a/c, but I'd not got to try it till today in Xbox/MSFS2024 (BTW, I've the Game Pass Standard Edition only, and outright purchase of the Premium Deluxe version (which version I also had in MSFS2020) is currently on-hold...and it does not look like, outright purchase of FS2024 would come as a gift for me at Christmas this year...🙂...as I'd originally planned...Oh well...)...

Anyway, after my recent (basic but successful) tests of the three iniBuilds airliners (A321, A330, A400M) in successive attempts (please see my earlier posts of you wish), and buoyed by the fact they all passed the litmus test of this virtual aviator...🙂..., today, I flew the A310-300 for the first time. It too passed my initial test flight (see details below) ...fluently and flawlessly...within my limited domain of knowledge and expertise, of course. It did its job at least as well as (if not better than) what I remember from MSFS2020.

Unfortunately, while pausing to take screenshots, it still causes for me (occasional) loss of control of the airplane, just as it was the case in MSFS2020. Otherwise, all else looks good here. For this short flight, I've lifted off Rwy 27 (KSAN) straight out westward into the Pacific, for about 15 miles, see my ND and EFB screenshots, past waypoint SARGS (IF) of ILS Rwy 09, and then I have activated NAV (guidance) on the MCP for a circular Dir-To tracking back to SARGS, to be subsequently aligned with the waypoint GATTO (IAF). The LAND mode on the MCP functioned well, perfectly capturing the Localizer and Glideslope signals as expected. The landing back on Runway 09 was uneventful... (see images below) ...

Good airplane and good fun with it today, and I believe, this A310 is now ready for longer flights...🙂...

I understand that migration into (and compatibility in) of complex airliners are now mostly inadequate for MSFS2024 (the Fenix may be an exception, I hear). So, you may carefully consider the pros and cons accordingly. For me, per what I've tested in Xbox so far, the 4 iniBuilds Airliners (310/321/330/400M), the PMDG 736, and the 748/787 seem to be working well without any issues...let's see...

Hope you enjoy this collection of pictures of this Airbus Classic...flying for me here, in a clear blue sky, on this short test flight today at San Diego...!

[Just a note: BTW, how do you like the shoe-style of my Co-pilot (see shot #4 below) ...🙂...I think MSFS has good taste in the choice of (pilot) uniform and accessories...🙂...]

Thanks for viewing...! Cheers...!

Fine shots of a good aircraft P_7878. I will not try it in 2024 now, can fly it in 2020.

Thanks for the comment, Andreas…!

Yes, if you have FS2020 alongside FS2024, it’s best to continue to fly and enjoy it in MSFS2020…

But it does fly very well in MSFS2024 too, for me, after the Patch…(except for that anomalous behavior while taking screenshots…)…

Cheers…!
