Installing MSFS2020 Airports into MSFS2024

Featured Replies

Can someone answer this question:

I have 50 airports installed in MSFS2020.  Some were purchased thru Marketplace and others thru developers, or SimMarket/Orbx.

Some airports show in my Community Folder in 2020, most do not.  I presume the ones bought thru Marketplace never go to my community folder.  So, how would I install those 2020 airports into 2024????

( BTW - For those in my 2020 community folder, I just cut and paste to my MSFS Community 2024 folder and they seem to work fine)

You need to go your library in 2024 and scroll down the list. Your purchases from 2020 will be there (perhaps not all of them yet, my list is still growing) and you click enable and restart the sim. They will appear in your ‘streaming packages’ folder, not your community folder.

FWIW airports that I install from outside in the community folder run great in 2024. The streaming ones run like crapola but YWMV.

Well Benny, that was the tip of the decade for me.  I never knew where those airports resided, and no one was ever able to direct me to that.  You did  - thanks.  That prompted me to watch a youtube video and see how to enable MSFS2020 airports into MSFS2024.  That was easy and I am testing out the airports now, but so far no issues.   That ORBX lists of compatible airports is also a great guide.

Thanks.

You’re welcome. You’ll also need to uninstall any default handcrafted airports if you have another version of them either in the community or streaming packages folder, for me this included Nice, Munich, Stansted, Cork, Liverpool and Dubai.

Here is Australia YMMV looks like it would be a ICAO code for an airport - for example I live near YSRI and I often fly out of YSSY.

One day YMMV is bound to be assigned 😹
