January 8, 20251 yr Hi 🙂 currently have a rtx 3080 with msfs24 (waiting for the 4080 super) and samsung 49" 120hz monitor i am trying to find the perfect balance between perf and quality. i am not sure i really understand the difference between the mod nvdia dlss frame generation on or off and vsync on with refresh rate (framerate limit in game)  In the cessna 172 i have a solid 45fps almost everywhere but as soon as i jump in an other airplane i drop around 20/25 fps. i see no difference with framegen on or off. and regarding vsync from what i understood, if i put framegen off but vsync on with 100% monitor refresh rate that mean i cannot go higher than 120 fps (120hz monitor) but whats the point if my setup does not allow me to go higher than 50 anyway ? I should put it to 50% or even 33% ?  Or framegen is better anyway even if i am not sure what it does exactly ?  hope i am clear enough, quite hard to explain the problem 😅  Thanks
January 8, 20251 yr That's a VERY big question you've asked with multiple possible long answers! You can both methods together with good results but I'm not the one to advise, but I'd start by saying you could use nvidia adaptive half-refresh rate vsync and see what that looks like. Your card is in that zone where it can run the sim at high detail but not also high fps. If you could drop the detail just a little to get up to that half refresh rate fps then you could double it with the lossless scaling app. 3x if you keep current detail but possibly more artifacts. I'll stop here for the reason I started with lol. Russell Gough SE London

January 8, 20251 yr I'm on a 3080 10G and a 13600K at 5.4 all cores, and have it set up as follows: 1. Frame Gen Mod installed and frame gen activated in FS2024. Vsync off in 2024. 2. Vsync on in Nvidia Control Panel ( I have a 60hz TV so you may have to set half refresh). 3. AutoFPS by ResetXPDR installed and running. The sim outputs at 4K using either TAA at 70% scaling or DLSS Quality which means it is internally rendered at around 1440p. Apart from some FPS bugs in 2024, I usually get s steady 60fps with most help coming from AutoFPS. Â Daz
