Still not possible to XPDR - ASOBO 737MAXBBJ

Featured Replies

So... Decided to take it for a short hop from Lisboa to Faro using BATC and as the controller assigned me a squawk code tried to enter it but no go 🥴

Checked the NET, found the bug reported since long ago and no fix...

I feel fs 2024 is a bit abbandoned... No News lately after the last Q&A... Bugs that have long been reported received no update...

I don't like it honestly 😕, I mean, the way FS2024 is being supported and FS 2020 degraded... I no longer use 2020 but practically every week I read about users complainig about degraded performance and network problems?

Whazzup with MSFS?

yes it is pretty slack that you still cant even use the transponder buttons to enter squawk on the 'most advanced' aircraft theyve ever made, however you can still enter codes in to the transponder by mapping keyboard buttons to the transponder in the controls menu.

Unfortunately, at least in my case, it doesn't work either 😕

Assigned keyboard and buttons for increase / decrease of the 4 transponder digits, but still no go 😞

Found a similar thread started more than 1 month ago at the Official MSFS forums:

Asobo Boeing 737-8 MAX unable to set transponder numbers! - Bug Reporting Hub / Aircraft & Systems - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums

This is ridiculous... to say the least ... An the 737 MAX is supposedly one of the flags of FS 2024 😕

It does work. You also have to map a key to ‘Transponder System Selector Toggle’. The numbers wont be visible as you press your mapped keys. So if you want 2222, press your assigned ‘1000’ key twice, press your ‘100’ key twice, press your ‘10’ key twice, press your ‘1’ key twice, then press your assigned ‘transponder system selector toggle’, ( might have to press it twice, cant remember), et voila ‘2222’ will display as your squawk code.

Yes, meanwhile I found a note on that, although you helped me with the correct designation of the key to map...

What a mess !!! And the 737 MAX was the Flagship of the FS 2024 fleet 😞

I use only the FENIX, and I'm more than fine with it, I like some aspects of weather depiction, I love the Scenery... The default aircraft are to avoid if I don't want to weep FS 2024 from my disk right after a session with any of it ...

I decided to give a chance to the MAX BBJ and ... the result was, although expected, even worst than I could tell ... I simply couldn't use it with BATC because the moment a SQUAWK was assigned my controlled flight stopped 😞

Well @rome0kil0 your  hint worked ! Thank you again !

I was finally able to complete a full flight in the 737 MAX BBJ2 with BATC "at the control" ... But if feels weird having to use that alternative for setting squawk codes 😕

The aircraft flies ... well... like a kite most of the time, pretty much like all default aircraft in MSFS, but that's unfortunately expected... Systems wise didn't find any game killer inconsistencies. VNAV and LNAV worked acceptably for the class it belongs to - Inibuilds defualt aircraft for MSFS - and I intend to fly a few more flights, at least until I decide to either purchase the iFlly 737 MAX or  wait for the PMDG to port my 737 to FS 2024.

Well, too many bugs, inconsistencies, systems and flight dynamics wise 😞

Back to my FENIX, and will keep using the Zibo 738 in the other sim while waiting for PMDG to port their 737s to FS 2024, or deciding to go iFly 737 MAX as I did in P3D...

Give it 6 months to a year, and most things should be fixed.
