February 16, 20251 yr I just installed the v3 of OERK from AZRSIM in MSFS 2020. Very disappointed, a number of issues: - when downloading the installer, it also downloads a separate file, OERK-lkt89z (which I believe is a config file). However, no information on what to do with that file, where to put it etc. - the scenery is really bad with performance. I can run iniBuilds EGLL, KJFK, KLAX all fine with traffic. But OERK is a stutter and FPS drop fest (that's without adding any traffic!). There doesn't seem to be any way to turn off the very detailed (and nice looking) interiors. Most hard core simmers don't want detailed terminal interiors...just decent scenery with good performance. Doesn't appear to have been optimised at all. - the gates don't seem to get to the aircraft doors and stop metres away. I'm using the PMDG 777 and have tried a number of gates. Very disappointed in this scenery. Optimisation should be a standard now. February 16, 20251 yr I would contact the developer for help, they are likely the only ones that can advise you. AMD Ryzen 7800x3d 64gb DDR5, Sapphire 7900 GPU MSSI Tomahawk AM5 M/Board. 1x 4tb Crucial M.2 SSD, 3x 2tb Crucial M.2 SSD's
February 16, 20251 yr from the sales page on SimMarket - "However, it’s important to note that King Khalid International is a large-sized airport, and the incredible level of detail comes with a performance consideration. With a high number of vertices in the models, especially in the newly added features like the metro station, private terminal, and highly detailed interiors, it’s recommended not to underestimate its performance demands. While the update is all about quality, the size and complexity of the airport mean that users with lower-spec (anything bellow RTX4070/RTX3070) systems may need to adjust settings to maintain smooth performance. This V3 update for Riyadh King Khalid International Airport is not just about adding more details—it’s about offering a richer, more immersive experience that captures the essence of this bustling Middle Eastern aviation hub. For anyone looking to experience a truly next-level airport simulation, this update is essential, but it’s also important to consider the performance demands due to the high-density models and textures that bring this airport to life." I got this (as an update) but haven't tried it yet. Lousy performance is not of itself an issue for me, as I tend to only use these large airports to explore around rather than actually fly in or out of them, but this may just be a case of more detail than current technology can handle? February 16, 20251 yr Author If they are this detailed, there should be the option to turn off airport interiors AMD Ryzen™ 9 9900X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 12 Core, 24 Threads, 4.4GHz, 5.5GHz Turbo 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000MHz Corsair Vengeance 32GB GeForce® RTX 5090 Graphics Card
February 16, 20251 yr The config file is for GSX Pro. I've just got it (Flew in and out of there many times as an expat). I noticed that there are taxi lights marking the lead-in to the threshold of Runway 15L, which cross half the runway of course. An obvious error. Petraeus
February 16, 20251 yr OK, just had a visit to my upgraded version. Not hugely impressed, at this price I would expect a static population within the buildings at an absolute minimum rather than empty buildings. And really there ought to be animated activity in there. Doesn't feel like a high end airport, but it does have a high end price. Also doesn't feel like that much of an upgrade but it has a pretty hefty upgrade price. I do like to have airports in this part of the world, but all the ones I've bought so far have been overpriced and nothing like as good as they think themselves. One particular annoyance in my eyes is that we now have some pretty impressive trees in 2024, but the developer has included huge areas of really poor palms all over this airport rather than use the native ones. Which indicates a lack of care as I assume these were developed for the previous (2020) version and have obviously not been updated, despite the significant cost of the "upgrade". No comment to make about things like runway markings or lights as I tend to ignore such stuff. I'm only interested in the look of the airport, and this one doesn't cut it for the price. For me, this is no more than a twelve dollar airport. I'll use it, and no doubt enjoy aspects of it, but it is pretty poor value. February 16, 20251 yr Author Just flew into it and the GS for ILS 15L is massively off. Would have brought me down halfway down the runway if I hadn't switched to visuals and used the PAPIs instead. Really disappointed in the whole scenery. AMD Ryzen™ 9 9900X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 12 Core, 24 Threads, 4.4GHz, 5.5GHz Turbo 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000MHz Corsair Vengeance 32GB GeForce® RTX 5090 Graphics Card
