February 21, 20251 yr Hawker Fury msfs2024 16:9 single monitor vs. 32:9 double wideview (Nvidia Surround) There are 32:9 monitors in 2K or 4K wideview Or like me two 16:9 side by side using Nvidia Surround from which I took these pictures. So my double wide setup that made the picture above is 1440p = 5184 x 1440. But there are double wide 4K monitors = 7680 x 2160. The monitor below is 4K doublewide by Samsung which is currently on a sale price at Bestbuy chainstores. It will produce a better image than my picture (but you lose framerates). https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-57-odyssey-neo-g9-dual-4k-uhd-quantum-mini-led-240hz-1ms-hdr-1000-curved-gaming-monitor-hdmi-2-1-dp-2-1-usb-3-0-black/6549291.p?skuId=6549291 In 2D (i.e. not VR) I always fly double wide. The immersion seems so much greater. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
February 21, 20251 yr Author Flying double wide, what I see on every flight is an aspect like the bottom picture above 32:9. The top picture is what I see using only one of the two identical model and make monitors at 16:9. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. February 22, 20251 yr Author I never flew FSX at 32:9 but I would guess that it did not distort (elongate) at the edges like MSFS does. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
