I recall this not your first visit here to KHMT (Hemet-Ryan) ...🙂...it seems like a scenic place to start from...

Glad you're having a such a beautiful and sunny day for your trip... while around here in Chicago, I now see some flurries drifting outside my window ...🙂...and the local lakes and ponds all still remain frozen over...so, only ice-fishing possible for the diehards...🙂...

Didn't know about O24 and Mono Lake...

Brrr!  In your neck of the woods! Yes , Khmt is my Home base. It is down the road from me. Opened little nav map and picked an airport/field next to a lake and that’s where I ended up. Cheaper on 2024 than in RL lol, maybe some day I’ll plan a RL flight there.

From Lee Vining, head up Tioga Pass Rd to Saddlebag Lake Rd, go north about a half mile, then hike the (steep) trail to Gardisky Lake.  I humped a float tube up there back in the late 80s...caught a monster 21" brook trout on a dry fly.
