For a period of time there were regular false TCAS contacts at Heathrow on the climb out from 27R. It looked to me as though signals were perhaps being reflected from a nearby industrial unit which had been built.

It never caused any RAs though, they were probably inhibited anyway due to the low altitude.

So, false contacts do occur for random reasons,not sure what’s going off in DC but I take your point it’s suspiciously coincidental.
