March 21, 20251 yr His new computer came in 2 days ago. March 22, 20251 yr Author In places were fps typically falter (airliners, heavy scenery, Somnium super duper high resolution headset), his 5090 improves fps about 100% over his 4090, so he says. But in most places the improvement in performance is way less, about 25 or 30%. All of this in VR. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. March 22, 20251 yr i'd need to see him compare the same flight areas side by side (tested within the same couple of hours) with vr1 on 4090 and 5090 to really know. Each headset seems to behave quite differently, particularly in 2024 it seems. My 2024 game performance can change from day to day, sometimes just from hour to hour a 4090 v 5090 test in dcs could be more reliable. Edited March 22, 20251 yr by dogmanbird
March 22, 20251 yr Zero logged data charts over time, just him flying around with RTSS overlay … no real same for same comparison. But on the plus side, he didn’t melt cables or destroy his PSU.
