June 11, 200817 yr Hi all,In FSX w/Acceleration is there a way to always start up with theparking brake set and the large visual axis indicator on? I'veseen the lines in FSX.CFG about the *info*, but not about thebrakes themselves.I constantly am rushing to turn on the parking brakes when startinga flight at a gate. While it's amusing to have a 747 sticking outof a terminal building, it's not really that realistic. I have severe vision problems and the axis indicator is the is atremendous help. I'd also like to have the visual flight boxesturned on all the time, but I suspect that's something thatisn't programmable. Is there a utility that might do these setups for me? I am supposedto have eye surgery "real soon", but the doctors keep putting itoff. So it goes. :-(Thanks in advance for any help.Dan Davisonp.s. I searched AVSIM, SIMFLIGHT, Google, and various blogs but nada. --Dan "lensman" Davisonrs
June 11, 200817 yr not sure if this works for fsx, but it is in fs9's cfg:HideInfoText=1 | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
June 11, 200817 yr I have my parking brake set when I start. Load your default flight, set the conditions you want (e.g. - Parking Brake on, ATC Window size and position, etc...) then save it making sure the "Default" box is checked.Have not tried it with visual axis indicator, but I suspect it will work. It's quick and easy to try.Phill

It's quick and easy to try. Thanks to both of you. If I set the PMDG 747 to be the defaultairplane, I can set the visual flight path, the visual axisindicator, parking brake on, small ATC window and one other tobe on when selecting a flight. I was hoping the flight path, axis, brakes, and ATC would carryover to other jets (A319) but it doesn't. It's not a big dealanyway, as I can't see any of the writing on the glass panelsin the Airbus aircraft anyway. The PFD can be enlarged so atleast there is that much.OT: now if I could only get MySQL to dump out huge-font HTML.So it goes. Thanks all,dan --Dan "lensman" Davisonrs
