April 1, 20251 yr [First of all, a curious thing happened to me today. As you are likely aware from my posts, I am currently an exclusive user of MSFS in Xbox, though I have always had my simulation activity on a PC from before my FS9 days all the way until I switched to MSFS in 2020. There are certain Plug-and-Play aspects of MSFS/Xbox, that now fits my needs...and, of course, Xbox does have its own limitation too. Anyway, rarely Xbox Console and Controller have failed me when I start up my simulation. Today, however, my Xbox would not simply turn on. I checked the batteries on the Controller, checked the connections to my other peripherals (HOTAS, keyboard) etc. The problem was that the power cable from the back of the Xbox Console was un-plugged, but who would do that...? Then I recalled, a month ago, I'd encountered the exact same issue and had attributed it to my teen...🙂...likely while playing some warrior-type videogame on the same Xbox. Of course, my accusation was vehemently denied...🙂...So, this was the 2nd occasion...! It so turned out that the real culprit was not my teen, but it was another family member, the cat... 🙂...he has been pulling and removing the power cable from the back of my Xbox Console, btw, no other cable...due some animalistic fascination with it...🙂...Oh well...It gives new meaning to the (student) cliché...The dog ate my homework...🙂... (Also see my concluding Note below regarding Pets) ...] Santarém–Maestro Wilson Fonseca Airport (SBSN) in Brazil is one of the hand-crafted airports added in the MSFS World Update XIX (see a couple of pictures of the airport below). Santarém, I also recalled, was on my virtual route when I'd earlier explored (and posted about) the last few hundred miles of the Amazon River's 4,000 miles journey to the river's eventual (massive) drainage into (and mouth on) the Atlantic Ocean in Brazil's northeastern coast. Santarem is considered a unique city in Brazil because it's located at the confluence of Amazon and Tapajós Rivers (Tapajós being a major tributary of the Amazon River). Tapajos itself is by no means a small river (1,000+ miles long; but, of course, the one and only Amazon is 4 times longer). Both the rivers run along for miles in the front of this city, side by side, without mixing, but surely eyeing each other and negotiating an impending merger...🙂...Amazon's milky colored water carries sediment from the Andes in the East, while the Tapajós's water has a deep-blue tone, leading to the interesting phenomenon, called "The meeting of the waters" by the locals. Today, in this special region, I wished to test a takeoff and touchdown with the iniBuilds A321, in the special colors of Frontier's "Buck the Pronghorn" livery (see e.g., my last image below). This animal belongs to the species exclusively found in the North American plains, that looks like an antelope but (apparently) not related to it. I lift off Runway 28 of Santarém Airport (SBSN), westward into the massive (combined) bodies of water of the two aforesaid rivers and then I perform a tight loop (in the FMC guided "Managed" mode) back towards the airport to land on its Runway 10. From my (high) vantage point of this flight, these two rivers, frankly, did not look like rivers at all...rather like an expansive lake (somewhat similar to Lake Michigan that I had a chance to visit just this week...🙂...). The flight today was short and sweet...with this nice iniBuilds A321...a SIM a/c greatly enjoyable from my limited (aviator's) viewpoint... I hope you too enjoy this collection of pictures of the "Buck the Pronghorn" Airbus flying above the waters of the incomparable Amazon River and its dense Rainforests (see below) ...with the river surely eagerly anticipating its final (and upcoming) dissolution into the Atlantic Ocean...just a few hundred miles to the east of my today's flight route. [An interesting Final Note: In one of my (close-up) cockpit images below (shot #7), you'll notice the curious "No Dog" sticker in the front flightdeck of this (Frontier) A321 Airbus. This is because though this airline is a big proponent of animals (featuring pictures of animals on the tails of its aircraft), it has special restrictions on the transport of live animals in the cargo space, which is what the sticker is indicating. Per my on-line AI Overview: "Frontier Airlines allows domesticated dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, or small household birds to be carried on flights within the United States, but only in the cabin, not as checked baggage, and only certain species are allowed". So, if your mischievous pet, unless it's a service dog (to be carried separately on-board), fits under the seat in the cabin, like your carry-on luggage, then only you can carry your furry friend along with yourself...🙂...otherwise not in Frontier...] Thanks for viewing...!
