IncompleFltsimSections

Featured Replies

Hi Nico

I have this entry on IncompleFltsimSections

"D:\MSFS_2020\Community\AITraffic_Airlines\SimObjects\Airplanes\AIG_Dash8-100" "[fltsim.41]" has no airline and its regcode is not in my dbase (very old liv?)

This is Maroomba Airlines Dash8-100 VH-QQK

I have a lot of this entries. Checked  their trackers and airlines and airplanes are active. Will check later today if they show up in the sim.

Any sugestions please ?

Thank you.

Marco.

Nico, I'm fairly sure this is what I was mentioning the other day with regards to using 2 letter entries in the icao_airline=?

While not an official icao code, 2 letter codes are used in various parts of the world.

MB Maroomba, HT Aerlink, HA Harbour Air,  FD RFDS Australia and the others I mentioned to you a few days ago.

Hi Dave,

I know, but two letter codes are useless, they are not being used in the RealTraffic data...

They are not unambiguous. The same two letter code may be in use in another part of the world.

Yes, but the fltsim section has no atc_id field (the regcode).

PSXT also searches for buzjets and light aircraft also for the regcode in the title, but this regcode (VH-QQK) is not in my database.

If you mail me your incomplete flightsim section file, I will add your regcodes.

mail it to the same email adress as the TBLO folder contents.

But they are! Look at the Maroomba flights or the RDFS Australia. FD and MB. There are 2 letter identifiers in Canada and the US as well.

Yes, RT traffic messages carry IATA callsigns too (if available). But can I be assured that they always have two letters first and then at least one digit?

If PSXT would scan these IATA callsigns too, it must also take into account in what part of the world the user is actually flying... It is a lot easier to use the regcode of the aircraft to match for a livery. See how many liveries are already matched in step 1 these days... Then  I do not need to know the airline at all. Therefore it is important that livery makers fill in the atc_id, or if usesr see Fltsim section problems, but the regcode is in the title, it would be nice to report these to me.

They aren't IATA codes though either. As I mentioned in my email, there are lots of operators using 2 letter codes as well as many hundreds of US bizjets operating on 3 letter codes that aren't ICAO.
If PSXT uses the reg instead so that they at least get injected that's definitely a plus.

I'll have to go look to see if the RFDS Australia PC12's and KingAirs get injected.. I've just been really busy watching at North Island NAS in San Diego all of the SH-60's and V22's operating, it's incredible!
