AIO Cooler running very hot and noisy in MSFS.

Featured Replies

My Corsair AIO H100xELIte cooler runs very hot and the fans on the radiator are very noisy when running MSFS 2024 sim, plus some other games that are very graphical. Very cool and quiet otherwise. Is there any setting I can make to cool and quiet this cooler down when running MSFS. Thanks for looking.

This could be down to the airflow in your case often overlooked but most important today. you need air and out as fast as possible any backpressure in the case will cause a build-up of heat on your main components

Thanks for the reply, but my system was built by a professional builder (Scan) and they put in 4 fans for airflow, but the problem with the AIO is when it is under load with intense graphics as with MSFS.

I know them how old is your PC check for a build up of dust, they have a help line ask them.

I have been in touch with Scan, and they are looking into it. The system is about 2 years old, quite a high spec at the time, and have checked for a build up of dust. Sill open to any suggestions you guys may have.

What's the CPU?

Is this a sudden occurrence, something new?

Any pump noise?

Any rattling or bubbling noises?

Could be quite a few things, pump issues, pump speed, air in the system, bad contact with the IHS, fan curve issues ETC.

What CPU temp do you get under load?

If you never built your own system I would avoid digging into deep and removing parts.

First and easiest thing I'd do is check the fan curve, in case it's been switched to an aggressive curve, or even max rpm

HWMONITOR | Softwares | CPUID

Try downloading this program it will tell what your system is doing in real time. EG the CPU temp fan speed ECT.

This is an example on my system.

It can also be run in the sim to show real time performance under heavy load.

I missed this.

If its not cooling the CPU sufficiently resulting in high RPM fans... then its either bad contact with the IHS or pump issues, or air in the system.

Check your Corsair software running your AIO is working correctly and upto date and a setting has not changed this can happen, I have used Corsair on some of my builds.

The fans are at high RPM and CPU is still running hot, though. Sounds like an AIO issue to me. Not seated properly, dodgy paste, pump issue. Something like that.

I would let scan look into it, without posting specs for the system and knowing the CPU real temps any advice would be pointless
