Graphic / Texture glitches in 2024

Featured Replies

I am trying to get used to 2024 so that I can switch from 2020 at some point, and I'm currently setting up things like cameras, texture options and my controls. I found the glitches by chance when switching quickly between FREE CAM and RESUME a number of times. At first I though it was a problem with my graphics card, but the artifacts don't happen all the time, and only with certain scenery addons, so I'm not sure.

So far after a fair bit of testing with a few 3rd party airports I have only experienced the glitches with IniBuild's JFK and LAX, but plan to test their LHR when I get a bit more time. I've done some extensive testing at a lot of airports in 2020, and I don't get any glitches, just in certain airports in 2024.

I have a 3090 card and was on the latest graphics drivers. I've done clean install of 566.36 a via DDU to see if it was a driver issue, but I'm still getting the artifacts. I don't use DLSS or frame gen, I've also cleared out the Nvidia cache, and the scenery indexes in 2024 to see if that helps.

Does anyone have any idea's what may be causing these glitches? Thanks.

Okay, tested ORBX EGLC v2 and Ini's EGLL and it happens there as well. When I move toward the artifacts, they disappear, I start to move backwards and they reappear, it's almost like the artifacts are tied to the LOD's with them popping in and out. Funny thing is, if I move even further away they disappear, but if I then move forwards to where they were, they do not reappear. Also, constantly switching between FREE CAM and RESUME, sometimes I have the texture issues, sometimes I don't.

Not sure if I have an issue with my system, but I reduced the TLOD from 400 to 200, and that seems to have fixed the issue for now.

I think I read that this is tied to the 'Displacement Mapping' option in the graphics settings. Turning it off should get rid of the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion. My Displacement Mapping setting was set to 'ON', I turned it off, reset TLOD to 400 and unfortunately it's still happening. TLOD is back down to 200 now, so will probably just leave it at that.

Had the same issues yesterday at Inbuild LAX and JFK. not sure what is the causing, I thought it could be my video card as it has been push to full blown very often, is that due to SU2 VRAM spike issue? Or the textures from Asobo's streaming.

Not sure what the cause is. I don't use 2024 much at the moment, but only noticed it a day or 2 ago. I did some benchmarking and stress testing of my PC/GPU yesterday and everything appeared okay, no graphical problems, and had a play around in 2020, also no issues. Just seems to happen in 2024.

Can anyone please check your airport Inbuild LAX and JFK. These are airports with problems.

I can tell you that when I had these kind of graphical glitches in the past it was a sign of the GPU ending it's lifecycle due to overstress.
