FS2024 - Default and custom views

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Probably I'm dumb, I'm aware of this. But even after reading tutorials, watching videos and so on I still cant get it right.

In the keyboard commands configuration, how do i save (and recall) the default cockpit view?

What I mean is: I'd like to save a custom default view for each plane, and also being able to get back to that view with a joystick button after moving around wiith the mouse.

Stupid question I know, but already made a total mess with controller configuration.

Thank you all for the help.

For each position you'd like to save, press Ctrl+Alt+1, Ctrl+Alt+2, Ctrl+Alt+3 etc. Then you cycle through each custom view by pressing Alt+1, Alt+2, Alt+3 etc.

Give it a try.

This is not correct. You described the keyboard shortcuts for custom views which function differently from the default cockpit view. Also, but I am not sure here, the default keyboard shortcuts in MSFS 2024 for custom views are different now, they use Shift command exclusively (Shift F5 - F8 to save the camera, Shift F1 - F4 to recall it).

For a customized default cockpit view (usually 'VFR Pilot') you save the camera with the 'VFR Pilot View Save' command - by default it should be Ctrl+F10. And Shift+F10 resets this particular cockpit view to the default settings made by the aircraft developer. That is the default view you get back to when you use 'Camera Reset' or 'Reset Cockpit View' commands.

You can also use Ctrl+F9 for 'IFR Pilot' and Ctrl+F11 for 'Landing view'.

You can switch between these views using the 'Next Pilot Position' or 'Previous Pilot Position' commands.

These default camera views as well as the custom views are stored in a separate camera.cfg for each aircraft.

Sorry my had. I somehow misinterpreted the question for custom views. Who's the dumb one now?

This is new to me and a bit of a game changer so, thank you for this.
