Will I dominate in games?

Featured Replies

Current Internet is 45 mbs. New Internet when we island hop.... 945 mbs. Yikes!

What's that? 2000% faster?

Stand back folks, the gaming master has arrived. 😁

If you have a latency to match, you will definitely dominate.  I remember the first time I saw a 17ms ping time on someone else's computer when I was still running dial-up at home with pings in the 170ms range. These 17ms ping time players are the guys you'll be competing against in twitch games.

Besides, age and treachery win out over youth and enthusiasm.

I was watching my son play Quake online and only one player gave him any problems.  We got to chatting and it turned out he was 62 years old and hadn't been playing very long.

I remember when we were on satellite internet with a, I kid you not, 1300ms ping time.  I was playing a Napoleonic tactical combat simulator with no problems and I didn't even notice the ping.  Real time, but not exactly a twitch game.

Indeed. Will be interesting to check out the latency when I get there. We are moving belongings over bit by bit.

It's improved even more since 2021. 945 mbs is guaranteed anywhere on the island.

"Jersey has consistently been recognized for having the fastest internet speeds in the world, particularly for its broadband network. A 2021 analysis by Channel Eye showed Jersey's average broadband speed at 274.27 Mbps, surpassing its nearest competitor by 30%. This high speed is due to Jersey's full-fiber network, which is available to every broadband user on the island. "
