Differential brake message how to get rid of it?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,I know this has probably been posted and answered before, but I did a search of forum and could not find any posts about it.To get rid of the Differential brake message that shows up while flying FSX, I tend to remember there is some text that has to be added to the FSX.cfg file. Can someone kindly let me know what that is again. Thanks in advancePhilI'm using Ch USB Pro Pedals and they are calibatred.FSX Sp2 AccelDell XPS 710Quad core 67004gbVista Ultimate 32bit

Hi Phil"From: http://www.flightsimulatorguide.com/fsxfaq.htm#brakemessage- Open the fsx.cfg file and search for "InfoBrakesEnable". Directly below this line is another setting:"InfoParkingBrakesEnable". You can change both of them to: InfoBrakesEnable=FalseInfoParkingBrakesEnable=FalseThe first one enables/disables the brake message when the autobrakes are still in RTO position after the takeoff. The other one enables/disables the parkingbrake message. Below these 2 settings, there are another 4 settings about text messages: InfoPauseEnable, InfoSlewEnable, InfoStallEnable, InfoOverspeedEnable. You may disable these text messages as well if you like to see no text messages at all"Is this what you were looking for? I believe that Bill Leaming has posted something similar on these forums.Peter Hayes

Thanks Petre, for quick reply.Yes it looks like it, I'l try it now.If I change both to the following, yes the message goes, but so does any brake text, I cna live with it, as in real life one doesn't get a message saying brakes are on do thay.InfoBrakesEnable=FalseInfoParkingBrakesEnable=FalseWhat wil stil make the brake mesage come on when braks are press on rudder pedals, hmm, I don't know, so far, I'll keep looking.CheersPhil

PhilI'm not sure if you can just see "brakes" and NOT differential brakes it may not be possible. However, I wonder if "InfoDifferentialBrakesEnable=False" (or InfoLeftBrakeEnable=False and InfoRIGHTBrakeEnable=False)and "InfoBrakesEnable=True" would do it? Probably ruin everything!!Perhaps one of the FSX gurus could enlighten us.RegardsPeter Hayes

Hi, In the main section of your fsx.cfg add the following line to remove all the red text such as view and brakes: HideInfoText=1 I don't know about just left brake, right brake and such.Have Fun,KailFlightSimmer since 1987C2D E6850 3.0GHz 1333FSBXFX Nforce 680i LT SLI2x XFX 8800GT 512MB SLI'd4GB Crucial Ballistix PC6400 800MHzCreative SB Audigy2 ZSUltra Xfinity 600W SLI PSUSeagate 320GB SATA-3GB/S HD for O/SWD 160GB SATA 3GB/S HD for FSXWindows XP SP3 / FSX SP2 / FS9 SP1
