X-Plane Main folder opens on start.

Featured Replies

Everytime I run the X-Plane 12 shortcut the main installation folder opens.

That just started happening. Is there a trick to stopping that from happening?

Thanks.

Yes make sure the shortcut is linked to the exe and not the folder

Thank you. I just removed the shorcut that was pinned to my start menu and created a new one linkimg it to the exe. No help. Keeps opening the installation folder.

Could be file assosication issue. Found this

I had the same issue and resolved it by deleting Navigraph Simlink from both Xplane/resources/plugins  and my PC, including from C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming. I have since reinstalled the latest version of Navigraph and XP opens with out opening File explorer. Its only my experience but may be worth a try.

It happened to me too a couple times but it's been months since I last had experienced it.

Maybe this fix you mention is really the solution because I do remember uninstalling and clean installing Navigraph from time to time, and while I can't relate that strange phenomenon not happening with that because I can't really recall if it stopped happening after a SimLink reinstall, it might well have been the fix, and I wasn't even aware of it and thought it had been solved by an Xp12 update.

Sorry for the late reply. That is exactly what was causing it. I deleted the NavigraphSimlink_64.xpl from the plugins folder and that took care of it.

I find myself having issues with the way Navigraph installs and uninstalls their programs on win pc.

Why would the uninstall program delete that file from the resource plugins folder?!?!?! 😏
