Anti-torque pedals in Msfs 2024 compared to Msfs 2020

Featured Replies

It feels like I have to use less anti-torque pedals in Msfs 2024 then Msfs 2020 when flying Taog's different helicopters. (I don't use the default helicopters and of course no assistans) Is that a bug or are the dynamics changed that much between those two?

Come here you big, beautiful cup of coffee and lie to me about how much we’re going to get done today.

The flight dynamic definitely changes in MSFS 2024. Initially, many articulated it as "easier" instead of "more realistic". I think the later is more plausible. Not only Taog's helos, we can have similar impressions with other helos too

I'm no expert, but I know one real world heli pilot who says 2024 helicopter dynamics are improved, but I haven't even seen details (Look up belatu42 on youtube).

To me (a non expert) everything feels less twitchy and more predictable.  I know helicopters are twitchy for real, but 2020 felt really hard to fly.  It isn't like 2024 is easy, just more consistent and less "nervous".

I noticed the same thing with light GA fixed wing aircraft too.  Not a massive change from 2020, but just less twitchy.  I remember in 2020 I could never quite get the sensitivity to feel right.

Again, I am NOT a real pilot.  I'm also using a $100 joystick (Winwing), not an expensive setup.

I will say that sometimes people think "more difficult" = "more realistic", and that's not always the case.  I feel like if real helicopters were this hard to control, I should be a lot more nervous when they fly overhead.  🙂
