July 11, 2025Jul 11 The "monitor" I use for FS2020/2024 is actually a 42" Samsung TV that I also use as a TV (especially during football season!). When using the TV as a monitor, do the Nvidia Control Panel monitor display settings, like brightness and contrast, etc., override and reset the same settings that you can set using the TV's internal display setup menu? Thanks, Al Edited July 11, 2025Jul 11 by ark
July 12, 2025Jul 12 No, they adjust the output sent to your TV which can have similar affect to the TV’s internal settings. I would recommend sticking with your TV for image/picture adjustments and not make any changes on the GPU side. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. - Carl Sagan
July 12, 2025Jul 12 Author So when used as a monitor, the display characteristics are a combination of the GPU and TV internal settings. The Nvidia Control Panel settings set the display characteristics of the signal sent to the TV, and the TV's internal settings determines how that signal is processed for display. Thanks for the responses. Al Edited July 12, 2025Jul 12 by ark
