@zorro747  posted a question in one of the threads in the main forum relating to how the new iFLY 737Max8 performs in VR.

Only used it so far in MSFS2024, but: Great!

I have been flying this with both the Quest 3 and the Pimax Crystal Light and both have been giving me excellent results.  I say that -  but I do have some more tinkering to do with the external view (I am presently using a TUI livery but (I think) it is a lower resolution version and it looks a bit 'computer sim' in the external view).  Internally, especially with the Crystal Light, the cockpit views are splendid.  I would go as far as to say the cockpit experience through the Crystal Light is the 'closest to real' that I can remember for an airliner on my system.

Performance-wise, at the moment (this is MS/nVidia/Asobo we are talking about so tomorrow EVERYTHING could be  degraded  different 😀) on my system and my settings, there is absolutely no judder in either internal or external views - all the way from cold dark start, to final shutdown at the other end.  I am using BATC - which, if there is a weakness anywhere in the hardware or software capability, will find it - and there is no obvious impact turning that on or off on the smoothness of the internal or external visuals nor on the BATC response times and clarity with the Max8 for me.

The Quest 3 isn't quite as sharp, but to a degree that I don't really notice after a few minutes of use.  I much prefer the Crystal Light for the visuals but, during the frequent times that the weight and cable-less convenience features of the Quest 3 are an advantage, I am quite happy to use this instead.

So, now I've largely sorted the initial cold and dark set-up (detailed in the main thread), I'll try a few of the different liveries and see if they work better for the external views through the two headsets.

The only negative aspect I found with the Ifly 737-800 max is that some clickspots in VR are way off, especially in the lower part of the instrument panel. It makes operating the FMC a hit and miss thing. i hope they can fix this in a next update.

Yes - I agree.  I also sussed it - the focus is not only floating, but also, positionally, it is fixed to the left eye.  So if you close your right eye in your headset, then you can work out where the cursor needs to be...but, at best, that's an unwelcome compromise.

Thanks for mentioning my question. Yes, I have tried the plane in 2024. Looks good, the performance is good. But the problem with clickspots keeps me off the plane, unfortunately... Does anybody know if the problem is addressed to the developer?

Yes - it's been logged on Flight1's Discord channel and Flight1 have checked and acknowledged the problem and are in discussion with Asobo relating to the lack of a lens focus option in MSFS2024.

It’s also a problem with 2020.

Oh good, I am not crazy. :D I have the exact same experience in MSFS 2024 in VR with the iFly MAX. The focal point seems to be fixed to the left eye.

I've just had a fly in MSFS2024 SU3 - which involved (for complicated MS reasons) a complete re-load of both MSFS2024 and of the iFly.   Unfortunately, this hasn't been fixed as part of SU3 - still the same floating cursor.  The family are starting to call me 'One-eye' 😀

The nice thing about this is we have two different headsets, which means the issue is independent of the VR headset hardware. I am using a META. Do you think I should open another ticket?

Can't do any harm.  These things are usually prioritised by how many folks are reporting the same issue.
