  1. Engage with those who you feel have given constructive feedback. Ignore those that don’t. You will not stop negative feedback because this is the internet. Your choice on who to engage with.
  2. Great. So if I want to fly to Atlanta, from Atlanta, over Altanta, near Atlanta, or have any possibility of diverting to Atlanta, I need to remember to start their DRM program before I start the simulator . I hope they know what they’re doing and good luck to them all 🤞
  3. In reading the Orbx forums it was apparently at the request of the developer. I posted in their forums but it’s awaiting approval from a moderator. Maybe I’ll get censored 🤪. This was my response to one of the moderators saying zero performance impact with DRM: “I think you’re missing the bigger picture. What if 200 developers all wanted their own DRM, and now I have dozens of these things running in the background whether I use their scenery during a flight session or not? A thief was never going to pay for his scenery anyway.”
  4. This could in fact be an Orbx thing that they plan to roll out to all their products eventually. We’ll see.
  5. I believe those modules only load up automatically when using their aircraft, and are needed because certain elements require outside resources to function (at least in the case of Fenix). Plus if we need one for every bit of scenery that’s a lot of clogs plugging the drain. Also a consequence of this will be a substantial increase in support tickets “why is my scenery not working.”
  6. 100% dealbreaker for me if true. I’m not launching a separate program every time I want to fly into an airport.
  7. Project owner is already wealthy - doesn’t need a bank loan. Team has day jobs and this is a side project. Team is investing their free time today in the hopes of a big payoff tomorrow A combination of the above
  8. I didn’t move the AEP folder anywhere specific in the scenery packs file and XP placed it at the bottom. Works fine.
  9. I hope for 3 improvements. Better mouse cursor icons and scaling, ability to click on screens such as EFBs (this might be more aircraft developer specific), and reduced cloud artifacts while in vr. edit: thought of one more. Get rid of the giant menu screens that appear in front of your face sometimes with no ability to see the edge to grab or move.
  10. Rather than being rushed, I don’t think inibuilds intended this to be “study level” on the same level as PMDG or Fenix.
  11. The discord link on their GitHub page is out of date. Perhaps someone already in their discord can let them know it’s expired.
  12. In that case, can you please go ahead and buy the King Air 😝
  13. That’s because you’re using map enhancement. The default scenery has city night textures to the horizon. You will still get the 3D lights popping up closer though. Pick your poison.
  14. Yes. Sliders in both sims are set on the mid range, if not a bit lower on some settings.
  15. My VR experience is the complete opposite. I find XP runs smoother than MSFS, and the cockpits and lighting are sharper. So yes try the demo since experiences can vary significantly.
  16. Haven’t tried the latest beta yet, but it was certainly there with 12.3. I previously filed a bug report but do not have a record of getting an xpd number back.
  17. You get a double mouse cursor in vr. That alone was a dealbreaker for me, unless you like closing one eye to click buttons.
  18. My guess is we’ll see some improvement in the current XP12 cycle, but the major update for XP13 in 2027 😮
  19. Regarding LODs, the wind sock is not visible when you are flying at the pattern altitude. I would think this would be pretty important when trying to figure out which runway to land on at an untowered airport.
  20. Unfortunately as a VR flyer I need to keep the graphics settings on the lower end otherwise it’s a slideshow or CTD. With these lower settings I’m not getting the benefit of the better visuals at ground level.
  21. I deleted MSFS 2020 a couple weeks ago to focus on MSFS 2024. Other than the vastly improved loading times, and some cloud layer improvements, I’m not seeing much of a difference or a stand out feature. I don’t use career mode so maybe that’s it.
  22. My understanding is that to improve performance they will have ground represented by solid green, water by solid blue, and sparse white lines to represent roads or buildings. This worked perfectly fine on my C64 and I think it will work here too! In all seriousness though, they should lean in hard to the “living scenery” concept. I was doing a VFR flight today and a balloon was passing below me. I swear it looked real. They already have great vehicles and trains. Now let’s see moving waterways/waterfalls, birds, seasonal changes to fields, tractors, etc, etc. This is the advantage of not having to rely on photogrammetry.
  23. How is it “consumer hostile” to hold the lower cost for current subscribers? What in your opinion should they have done?
  24. They are in msfs. However, in xplane they only turn on at dusk or inclement weather, and therefore may have more ability to control airport lighting. Keep in mind SI is a multi-sim product with one fee for all.
