Stopped using flightsims for good since early August 2026, after 34 yrs using some really great specimens... If I'm asked to name the preferred one, after all these years, MSFS 2024 is my answer without hesitation.

(No desktop :-// after the last one crashed for good, so no simming, but I keep polling AVSIM - my main ludic activities spot since around 2006...)

I grabbed this back when it released awhile ago.  IIRC, it made a noticeable graphical improvement for Default airports (as intended).  I didn’t specifically test, but there wasn’t a noticea

As long as I can maintain smooth performance I couldn't care less what the fps show!

I just grabed that one. And I must say: it’s absolutely fantastic! It improves all default airports quite massively in my opinion and I can only recommend it.

Thank you for the feedback @Franz007

I haven't purchased it yet, but it's in my 2-buy list 🙂

The FF 777 is next in the row now ....

I used AEP, looked great except the shimmering of ground textures during movement.

Also picked this up right away, great addon and I'd agree its made a good difference to the textures and general clutter and markings!

How is the impact on the frames? is there any?

Not that I’ve noticed.

Looks great, only issue is the ground shimmer I see when the aircraft is in motion. Only seems to be on the front screen, the sides look fine.

I have not noticed any performance difference, which is good.

question:

thgere are 2 folders AEP and AEP_Overlays, which both go into Custom_scenery, but the instuctions in the Manual only mention where to place in scenery_packs.ini the reference to AEP_Overlays, saying it should be placed right before GLOBAL_AIRPORTS, but no mention on where to place the reference to the AEP folder? Can it be placed anywhere in scenery_packs.ini ?

I didn’t move the AEP folder anywhere specific in the scenery packs file and XP placed it at the bottom.  Works fine.

Ok, so what you mean is that it appears placed at the bottom of scenerey_packs.ini right?

According to the FAQ on X-Codr's website:

Quote

Q: Do I need to add "AEP" to my scenery_packs.ini, or just "AEP Overlays"?

A: No, you do not need to add "AEP" to your scenery_packs.ini, since it's position in the ini does not matter, you can let X-Plane add it automatically

Based on their statement that "it's position in the ini does not matter", it leads me to believe that the contents of that directory consists of library files and thus, ordering is irrelevant.
