  1. But is he a REAL MD11 captain though... Beauty of a plane
  2. When people report that they have not noticed an impact on frames, they are implying that personally they have not seen any difference. Its good that you've seen a performance decrease because its useful to others but pretty rude to call people lairs.
  3. I have xplane installed on both windows and Mint, the only thing that stops me moving over is the lack of Mobiflight, I have a lot of custom hardware on arduinos that I enjoy interfacing with MF. The winwing script works fantastic though for getting their products working. Maybe someone knows an alternative although I'm sure it's going to be code your own scripts for the hardware 😂
  4. I have not noticed any performance difference, which is good.
  5. Also picked this up right away, great addon and I'd agree its made a good difference to the textures and general clutter and markings!
  6. I very much doubt they will do this, correct me if i am wrong but I pray they have the EFB available vial local host like the FENIX. Using my tablet at the side of my cockpit and not having to keep looking at the EFB is one of the great things about it.
  7. Well I'm using a series of Winwing products using the simapp pro software, and then a rowsfire A109 ECAM with mobiflight. No issues. And to the poster who said about the Rowsfire quality, yeah...I totally agree. It's like a high-school tech project for the money.
  8. Never though of that actually, I mean I've got a working solution but sure that might help someone too!
  9. I am also having V-Sync issues with latest. I've tried in game and NVCP with no luck. I finally got one working by using NV inspector frame limiter if that helps for now
  10. Haha yeah I'm getting confused too by the looks of it, thought I was loosing more of my marbles 😂
  11. He did say JustFlight Fokker 70/100? Anyway, Merry Christmas! I think SU4 has the platform set for some great addons this year 🙂
  12. Another thing they could do, is build a tool similar to the world editor, that enables the community to submit world class data in the form of raster, I mean we did such a good job on the airport database!
  13. I think Laminar are most likely not going down the streaming route, and I also think (well I hope!) that they will continue with the regional install idea, I've always liked that aspect of the installer.
  14. Hi Ryan, yeah your right the jaggies are a real issue, and with my 3080 card, pushing it to 4xAA is okay when there's not much clouds or rain, but as soon as night or heavy cloud is present, I have to then drop it again. I am running XPME and I know ortho isn't integrated into the sim natively but its such little fuss to setup that its completely fine! I also use Xroads and xautogen which make a big difference in how the ortho looks
  15. Yeah, the sim is butter, the clouds are getting better, and the overall atmosphere is just an absolute joy!
  16. I'm sure I read on the blog that they are dong away with the vector based way of roads and landclass and are moving to a raster approach to scenery. This is how the MSFS series does its scenery, much faster and incredibly accurate, so i hope they made good progress on this, I have no doubt they will come up with something much better for us.
  17. Yeah a little, but eh. I agree, It most certainly has a purpose but I just think too many people treat it as a general game update and get quite upset that its broken or things have deteriorated. "It’s not a way to get a better game faster or whatever you seem to think it is" Well considering the bulk of Asobo beta is dedicated to performance optimization, Yea I do actually.
  18. It still astounds me that given Asobo track record of releases, people still willingly subject themselves to beta testing 😄
  19. Not sure if its changed as I only fly X Plane now, but doesn't MSFS not have a visibility slider, or it didn't at some point, there was no way to adjust vis distance it was all done with clouds? One thing I'd really like Laminar to implement would be a save function for custom set weather profiles, sometimes i just like to make winter wonderlands and spend a little time getting nice cloudscapes and then I loose them as soon as i have to exit. But overall the weather engine has drastically improved and I'm hoping they will iron out the graininess from the distant clouds at some point, not that its detracting much from the enjoyment! 🙂
  20. I am very much glad I did not succumb to the hype and held out from pre ordering. most users are going through some real pain right now and the frustration is real, I've been watching lots of streamers on YT basically just trying to get some decent flights in to showcase things, and its just full of crashes, having to continually bind things, textures just disappearing and the entire sim just looking awful, missing content, floating people and on and on...Hats off to some of you, you have more patience than i would have had! On a similar note I've been a gamer for decades, and I have this horrible feeling that the MS franchise is going down the EA games route, where they had some great titles, and then decided that the business model would be release frequently and release fast, lots of hype, generate revenue and bolt on micro transactions, mini games and all sorts of bloat that ultimately turned a lot of players from these games, they became unfinished garbage. I really hope Microsoft has not put the pressure on to create such a situation, because that would be a real shame, im all for genuine real features that add value, but is that what we are really getting here?
  21. Really surprised that the thrust link severed, never seen anything near that before and I've inspected many a thrust link for GENx and GE90s. I guess its a positive that apart from redesigning the component, its quite isolated in its fault and not having a knock on to other parts, and its a doddle to replace them.
  22. Ah okay, I didn't realize its by design because of a limitation in the sim. Yeah the non rudder pedal folks would be in a pickle in this instance!
  23. Yeah I've also got a VR headset, but sometimes it makes me a bit nauseous after a while so moved back to a desktop. The immersion is fantastic I cannot argue! Its been quite a cool project to build though 🙂
  24. Ok cool, good to know! Thought it might just be a quick way to load fuel
  25. Well since I'm in the middle of building an SR22 sim, its a very welcome addition!! Just have to wait for real sim gear to update the GCU stack and we are cooking! Some observations- No free casting front wheel The fuel totalizer for some reason does not change the fuel. Should it do this?? the aileron trim is a little slow or ineffective, would be good if it had the same adjustment as the trim. But all in all, its flying very nice 🙂 20231202_153031 by spam ed, on Flickr
