Ifly Max ND smoothness

Featured Replies

Hi,

I’ve picked the max back up again after not using it much.  The ND seems to stutter during turns etc, an and isn’t as smooth as other addons.  I’ve got the glass cockpit refresh set to high but that doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Am I missing a setting in the efb?

Also posted on the official discord but in the past replies are often not quick in coming so thought I’d also try here.

Thanks

This issue warrants investigation. It's an intermittent problem I've noticed with both Ifly and PMDG, and it occurs less frequently but still appears with the stock 747 and 787. When it happens, it feels like a slideshow, with stuttering. Unfortunately, it comes and goes at different locations. Watching the FPS bar, it turns red, and performance drops significantly with multiple spikes in the graph. I've observed this becoming more pronounced since the last update in MSFS 2020, and it seems somewhat consistent with MSFS 2024. As I mentioned, it's a nightmare because it's intermittent and not location-specific. Some recent optimizations may have unintended consequences, which isn’t surprising with ASOBO.

I think what you’re talking about and what the OP is talking about are two different things. However, I know exactly the bug you’re talking about. TFDI and some other devs are trying to figure it out and they believe it’s related to simconnect/WASM. See this link here: https://devsupport.flightsimulator.com/t/simconnect-data-read-rate-suddenly-intermittently-drops/9586

The issue I have with this bug is that with the PMDG and iFly products, it’s just a brief annoyance, but with the TFDI MD11, it causes the AP to go nuts when it happens.
