July 23, 2025Jul 23 I have not tried to use this plane since purchase, but after seeing some postings I thought I would try. I installed it into 2024, prepared to do a flight KONT/KPDX, but then as I tried to initialize the flight plan I discovered an irritating problem. Simbrief assigned me the Sunshine 5 departure (SNSHN5) with an EHF transition... but when looking in the FMS it was ONLY offering two transitions, i tried paging or scrolling and no, no mistake, it only showed two, BEALE and COREZ I believe. I double checked a couple other planes to be sure, 777F and a 330, yup they offered the correct 5 transitions. Is this problem known, could this be a Navigraph issue, that seems unlikely to me, but this annoys the heck out of me, I've not gone on to investigate other airports or departures to see if its some stupid limitation due to the FMS display or something. But would like to know if they know about this? Thanks! Jack F. Vogel, Delta Virtual Airlines
July 23, 2025Jul 23 Author FYI, did some more investigation, it's much worse than I thought, I picked KLAX, KPDX, KMEM, looked at the charts for SIDS, and then spawned the plane there, turns out the FMS is programmed in a way that seems to make it incapable of displaying more than a couple transitions, sigh.... This makes the plane completely unusable, I wonder if they thought they could hide this word not allowed? I mean this should be an embarassment!! Jack F. Vogel, Delta Virtual Airlines

The MD11 isn’t my favorite plane, but all of the transitions are there. I suspect your navigraph data isn’t updated. It could also be you’re using an outdated version and need to run the manager again. Lastly, the MD11 as far as I know isn’t “officially” supported in 2024 yet. That will fix the issue. More here.
July 23, 2025Jul 23 Author OK, this is something I'm happy to be wrong about, I will investigate, thanks so much for the responses!! Jack Jack F. Vogel, Delta Virtual Airlines
July 23, 2025Jul 23 Author OK, mea culpa, last time I was in a hurry, i did the install of the plane, then immediately moved the community files to 2024 forgetting of course that the Navigraph data is not shared with the sim, although I think I ran the Navigraph update afterwards, it clearly didn't work. This morning I reinstalled into 2020 and then did the update there. Loaded that, and now the transitions are correct. So this is my fault.... well, my mistake, it would be nice to just have this as a proper 2024 install. In any case, now I can proceed to trying a flight to see how that works, I want to fly the MD-11 and not use XP12 🙂 Jack F. Vogel, Delta Virtual Airlines
