Some random images, mostly 2024

Featured Replies

Haven't posted anything for a while. Combination of factors, but I've been using the sim a fair bit and finally got round to sorting my endless screenies out. One of the reasons for not posting has been that my images seem to be suffering from a bit of washing out in the sky/cloud department. I use the X-Box Game Bar for my grabs, as I run HDR and the XBGB grabs both an HDR image and a standard (non-HDR) PNG each time. But in recent months those PNGs have tended towards a washed out look once converted to JPG (which is what I post here). So I end up with images that look crisp and fine on my system, but are a bit off if I post them here. I assume the XBGB software got an update somewhere along the line.

Anyway, most of these should be ok, so enjoy!

Ally-Pally (Alexandra Palace) in north London. I used to live just a mile or two away back in the day. Never did get to the overnight Technicolour Dream thing there, but did see Muddy Waters at a blues festival in the '70s

Down in the south Bay Area. One of my "go to" places in the sim. Always has been in any sim, but looking particularly splendid in MSFS (2020 and 2024 both)

Shark 600 over Miami. Got myself some rather fine (if overpriced) Miami scenery and spent a lot of time around there in various planes. Might post a set of 'em

And I've just been to the PMDG sale and got the -200 and the -F. I'd been using the CS version of the 777 but at a sale price I thought I'd grab these

So, there you have it. I've been reading some of the various 2020 vs 2024 XP comments on here and been amazed at how many problems some folks seem to have with either one. Sure, I find the scenery popping and LOD issues a pain, and the PG tree obelisks are an abomination, but I still feel that both 20 and 24 are just beyond amazing. Not everywhere is necessarily top grade, but when it's good .   .   .  wow!
