What should my Thrustmaster AP disconnect button be assigned to in 2024, to get the correct AP disengage on approach? At the moment I just get a warning alarm when I press it, but after two clicks it should be fine.

you are correct with current setting

Search for : "Toggle disengage autopilot".

If it has one, make sure you disable "auto repeat"!

You need to map it to Autopilot OFF.  Toggle is not correct.
