August 25, 2025Aug 25 Anyone try any of the recent bush planes the Lionheart Pacer Series or the SWS GA8-Airvan? If so what ya think of the handling and do the Performance specs match the numbers? Happy Landings Edited August 25, 2025Aug 25 by jwhak
September 6, 2025Sep 6 Late reply, as I found this thread looking for any other comments. I have the Airvan basic edition (MSFS2020), and am having serious issues with it. My issue doesn't appear widespread on Discord, but I have had no real response either. I fully realize it is not turbo charged, but trying to take off with a moderate to heavy load at 4,000 to 5,000 MSL feet is impossible. The aircraft accelerates to 60kts, and will not go much past that, except maybe 65 to 70 kt under 20 deg C. It eats up almost twice the published takeoff distance for the altitude and temp, and it will not climb w/o stalling or accelerate. I have leaned to max egt and 50 deg rich of peak. IRL it has about the same power loading as a 182 w/ slightly higher wing load, so I would expect it to be ok warm and high, and their own takeoff charts seem to support this. If that were fixed it would be ok, but I personally don't see anything special about it. Tablet is fair but minimal. It is a spartan cockpit, which is realistic, but it looks ok. September 6, 2025Sep 6 I also have basic version of GA-8 but running it under 2024. Same issue here - partial power, airplane feel underpowered to what it suppose to be. Tablet missing actual weight number just show CG. Frankly very disappointed, it should have not been released in this state. Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). September 6, 2025Sep 6 Author https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/simworks-studios-announced-ga8-airvan/525565/178 very bottom may be around that area what your looking for sir. Haven't purchased it myself. If they bump her up to a turbo version will definitively get the ga8 airvan. Happy Landings
September 7, 2025Sep 7 That thread really doesn't give me much hope... Time will tell I guess. Joe Lorenc
