Nvidia Drivers 581.08 - program doesn't support optimization

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've installed the latest drivers from Nvidia (581.08), yet when I add the X-plane 12 program to the app it states the program doesn't support optimization. If I select smooth motion as a global setting, my XP12 frames are cut in half and I get massive flickers. I have three Asus 4090 video boards with 24 GB memory running on three 75" Samsung UHDTV monitors.

Any ideas

Thanks

The XP12 prg is not supported. But there is a trick in letting the Nvidia App think that it is a supported program.

i use eurotrucks2.exe linking to XP12 (as a copy, I'll explain) and activate SM.

The trick is simple: you copy your XP12.exe somewhere, rername the XP12 copy to eurotrucks2.exe and SM will work fine.

Have used this trick this past 2 weeks and works well. Frames are doubled.

Cheers,

Pierre

Yes, that's what I missed. I forgot about that, I changed the name to Microsoft Flight Simulator when I was fooling around with filters to try and avoid reshade.

Thanks!

Hi,

I tried the eurotrucks2.exe and I still get the message that it doesn't support optimization. Strange

Do not worry about the >optimization> thing it is only: Nvidia applying general in game settings for the application. If you have set your game settings to your liking you do not need the Optimization thing.

What is important is the supported program trick that will allow you to use Smooth Motion.

By the way, there is a new Nvidia app out now: 1105245

Cheers,

It cuts my frame rate in half renaming to eurotrucks2.exe and my screen flickers like crazy. Are others getting this to work with the following message "program doesn't support optimization" I have 1105245 installed.

SM is not compatible with FG frame generation.

I don't use lossless scaling for frame gen. It just doesn't work with my three Asus 4090 boards and computers.

I went back to 566.36 drivers, this doesn't work. Would be nice if one day Laminar is included in the listing so we don't have to jump through hoops to take advantage of the latest offering from Nvidia!

You need to set it Global setting and select DLSS to the Latest. I have P3D set to locked FPS 30 result is 60 FPS.

Hi,

I used your setting exactly and I still go from an Nvidia setting of 60hz without FM down to 14fps. It doesn't work.

DLSS does not work with X-Plane period since it lacks motion vectors.

And since I already know what you are going to ask: No, there is no way to circumvent this.

Let's be clear. Smooth Motion works with XP12.

I am using it now and have the past 2 weeks.

If I turn on Smooth Motion it cuts my frames in half from locked at 30fps down to 12fps.
