Ian, I’ve had this on a very few occasions when required to be at the instructed altitude / FL 40 miles out. I was convinced I was at the correct altitude. RC4 begged to differ. Reduce altitude by <100ft and it’s satisfied.

Check the deviation settings. If they’ve been altered that might explain things.

Check the deviation settings.

Look standard to me. Heading 15, Altitude 300, Speed 15.

 

Send me a flight plan for one of your shorter routes and I’ll check it.

They are all long ones recently. I will do a shorty tomorrow and see what happens.

To be on the safe side, I did a repair to PMDG 747.

Today the PC didn't want to play nicely. Will try tomorrow.

Not related to your problem Ian but I had problems with RC always telling me I was off heading.  I changed the

heading deviation from 15 to 30 and no more problems.

I’ve had the default of 15 set for 20 years without problem. Are you hand flying? What aircraft? What sim?

When did you last update the RC database? Give that a try.

Having seen Ian's description of his problems I flew the route he provided with no issues.

I'm pretty sure he's using an old m4.csv file. I supplied a revised one 18 months ago. It's named Radar_Contact_v43_updated_Transition_Altitude_file.zip

Install that and the problem will disappear. 😁

Sorry Ray.  I'm not worried about it.  Was a couple years ago so I am happy now.
