November 6, 200817 yr My FSX suddenly refuses to start. The flash screen appears, then nothing happens and Core 1 is at full load. The process only takes up 52KB, but seems to occupy the first core completely. No disk activity is heard. This behaviour started after I tried alacrity (a program to shut down background processes). I tried to uninstall Alacrity, but this didn't change anything, neither did a complete shutdown of the PC or starting FSX from the folder.Have you experienced a siilar thing and how did you fix this? Or do you just happen to know how to fix this issue? Thanks for your help.
November 6, 200817 yr Have you got the Reality XP GNS530 WAAS? I had a similar experience recently with this which was cured by using the beta obtainable from their forum.John
November 6, 200817 yr There is a known logbook corruption failure that will cause the exact symptoms you are describing. There is a utility that will correct it and allow you to load FSX again. Link below.http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...hor=&CatID=rootPhillPS - if this corrects it, it had nothing to do with alacrity.
