September 9, 2025Sep 9 Hi Folks, So I've made this post on Reddit and the MSFS forums but yet to identify a fix just yet so I turn to Avsim to help. As first I was thinking this was a potential bandwidth / latency issue but after some playing around I've been able to point my finger at TLOD being overly aggressive. As a base I have my TLOD set at 100 and have been using AutoFPS for some time but for the sake of testing I've removed it from my PC and have stuck with using the built in TLOD slider. For some context, my Original post is the below but my newer findings are below. With my original screenshots here: https://imgur.com/a/B3kOtNA Quote I've been having this issue for some time now where it seems textures are just not loading in properly - It isn't until I'm almost on top of them that they start loading. I've tried to be thorough by checking speedtests to the major Azure Hubs in Europe and the Middle East and latency and bandwidth is not the problem from what I can see. There some on-going connectivity issues (Subsea cable cut) in my region but I've been experiencing this problem before that happened. My network is just shy of Gigabit pulling around 700Mbps downstream and 150Mbps Upstream to Amsterdam (Azures West Europe Hub) - Also checked against Azure speed test for that region and same result. Around 130ms latency overall, but I wouldnt expect latency to be much of a concern at least around 100-300ms. I've added my AutoFPS settings incase I've mis-configured something there too. What I do found odd is this happens at installed sceneries not just streamed ones - The screenshots above are at iniBuilds EGLL. Specs: 9800X3D Zotac 5090 64GB 6000MT/s RAM Sim is installed on my C:\ NVME M.2 SSD 4K 240Hz Monitor Graphic Settings (That I remember): AA: TAA MFG: DLSS x4 (Happens on x2/x3) Render Res: 100% Everything else is a mixture of High / Ultra with Buildings, terrain caching etc all set to Ultra - High reserved for things like Rocks etc. I'm really hoping someone can help here - it's lead to many immersion breaking moments that have just made me feel like not bothering with the sim. (That at the Main Thread Issue). I've typically always kept my TLOD around 100 regardless of my Specs and usually use AutoFPS to hit up to 250 when higher up and has been that way since MSFS2020. Here are the comparisons between TLODs: https://imgur.com/a/wSMlPw3 Bare in mind this is at Inibuilds EGLL so a locally installed scenery so from my understanding should not be streaming or be held to bandwidth constraints. The screenshots are taken at identical altitude and position which is approx. 100-150ft above the ground so I would fully expect 100 TLOD to cover this. I'd really appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction and hopefully I'm not the only one to have suffered with this and there is a fix out there somewhere. (I've tried SU4B and no luck).
September 9, 2025Sep 9 Yeah even for LOD100 the closest runway pic looks far too blurry. What's your system spec and ISP down speed? Also I think there is SOME streaming even if its a local scenery. Because I've got a few default planes locally installed and when I swap views sometimes some of the gauges kinda sharpen back into view. Which is odd, because obviously 2020 didn't do this. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

The gauges on my Carenado F33 do this, no matter if I stream it or install it locally, it is just the same and I find it really annoying. I have seen it happen less often on a few other aircraft, normally when I am in the outside view for an extended period of time, but the F33 is by far the worst. Yet other dialled planes like the Carenado Dakota never seem to exhibit this glitch. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.
